INTERSTELLAR CREATURES

If you were the moon & the moon had wings

I’d want you to meet me on Saturn’s rings

where we’d dance like a record on repeat

falling into the groove & in sync with the beat

with the heat that comes

from all the stars exploding around us

or maybe it’s just our feet our hips our lungs

on fire out in space

I want to explore entire galaxies with you

& everywhere we go

you’ll bring the tide in and out again

because we are interstellar creatures

& we were never meant to keep our feet upon the earth

but instead find our place

in the orbit of this cosmic rebirth.
