​What can I submit?

• Any written work including but not limited to: poetry, short stories, flash fiction, creative nonfiction, personal essays, excerpts from novels, and plays! We also accept foreign language submissions with an English translation.

• Please submit them to the correct form linked above during submission periods.​​

We're looking for quirky, unconventional, and courageous writing that embraces your unique style! We love pieces that have been rejected for being "too weird."​

​

​Submission guidelines:

• You may submit up to 2 pieces per issue, and each submission should be 2,000 words or shorter. (2 is the maximum number of submissions across categories. For example, you may submit 1 poem and 1 prose piece, but not 2 pieces in each category). 

• Foreign language pieces must be accompanied by an English translation (please write the translator's name on the document if it is not you.)​​​

• Please read and follow all guidelines - any entries that do not will automatically be rejected!

Personal bio:

We highly suggest writing a short third-person bio alongside your submission in the form. It must be 200 characters or shorter.

You reserve the rights to your own work!

The work you submit will remain 100% YOURS. We do not claim rights to any part of your submissions. That said, please do not submit previously published work to our magazine.

If you are published by us and want to re-submit that piece to another magazine, you must make sure they accept previously published work and mention Iceblink Lit as the original publisher.

The response date is indicated in the forms. If you do not hear back by then, please consider it a rejection. (Note that a rejection is not always indicative of skill! Your work may just not be a good fit at the moment, and you are encouraged to submit again in the future. Submissions that do not follow guidelines will not be considered.)

All submitted pieces must be your original work.

Please do not submit any AI generated content.

No changes are approved after submitting.

FAQs

• THEMES: We do not have themes for general submissions.

• AGE/LOCATION: We are open to pieces from writers of all ages and nationalities. ​

• ART: We are not currently looking for visual art.​

• SIMULTANEOUS SUBMISSIONS: We allow simultaneous submissions. If you submit to multiple magazines and a different one accepts your work before us, please send a withdrawal email to iceblinklit@gmail.com ASAP.​

• 18+: We are very unlikely to accept explicit or highly suggestive content.​

• SENSITIVE CONTENT: If your work contains any sensitive content, please include a content warning on the document or in your response to the final question of the submission form.​

• FEEDBACK: We do not currently offer feedback on declined submissions. ​
