Unlovingly Yours

I shall not scale mountains

Or swim nautical miles;

My heart will not seek to

Endear or beguile.

I shall not wallow in pain and tears,

Nor the flame of love burn in my heart;

My love shall not bide or adhere,

Like a transient rainbow it shall depart.

I promise not to bring you to the moon

Nor pluck the infinite stars.

I shall remain sincerely

Unlovingly Yours.
